New page

These are the stock player classes in ge-next. They are defined in
MPOGESHP.MSG
, which also ships unchanged in the 32-bit package. A sysop can modify the class table. See Ships for the player-facing overview and Ship class configuration for configuration details.

At a glance
Shield / phaser gives maximum installable Marks, not current equipment. A zero means the class lacks that system. Warp is rated cruising speed; scan is range in distance units. Price is in cash. Kill points are awarded to an opponent when the class is destroyed.
The "MBM Dreadnought" has the exact same class settings as the Dreadnought from classic GE, and is presented in-game as a relic from a previous era. Compared to the stock ge-next Dreadnought, it has a higher warp speed and faster acceleration, but half the durability and less than half of the cargo space. It is also not eligible for any ship upgrades. It's named after Mike Murdock.

Equipment and durability
Unlike classic's yes/no weapon flags, ge-next stores the number of torpedo and missile launchers. Zero means no launcher. Other systems lists permitted equipment, not stock ammunition or installed upgrades. The class's acceleration and damage factor are separate from its rated warp and shield Mark. Cyb fire / pursuers shows the unprovoked-fire flag followed by the configured pursuit limit; a class can attract a pursuing Cybertron without allowing it to fire unprovoked. Upgrade eligibility is another class setting and does not follow automatically from the systems listed here.
Use in ge-arena
The stock ge-arena class designs use the same maximum system ratings, movement, cargo, scanner range, and DAMF as their ge-next counterparts, but each mode defines its own starting shields, phasers, ammunition, and other loadout. The roster is selected per mode; the price shown above is for persistent ge-next play, not an arena purchase.
Mode !! Stock player classes
Battle || Interceptor, Minelayer, Monitor, Destroyer, Battle Cruiser
Hoard || Destroyer, Frigate, Battle Cruiser, Dreadnought
King || Monitor, Frigate, Battle Cruiser, Surveyor
Base || Dreadnought
Scored || Interceptor, Minelayer, Destroyer, Frigate, Dreadnought

These are shipped defaults; an arena sysop can change the class roster and loadouts.
