Where to play online

Galactic Empire can be played through a MajorBBS or Worldgroup system using a Telnet-capable terminal, or through the web ports listed below. All information is current as of October 18th, 2026, and will be updated regularly.

ge-next

• The WABAC Machine — bbs.ccsnet.com, either via Telnet or a web interface. There are currently two live ge-next instances. The web interface includes a graphical ge-next frontend.
• The Keep — thekeep.netcurrently has 32-bit ge-next 0.3.1.

ge-arena

• The WABAC Machine — bbs.ccsnet.com, either via Telnet or a web interface.

Classic stock GE

These systems have classic Galactic Empire with no apparent customizations:

• Saturn 5 — bbs.saturn5bbs.com; small bump in freighter capacity only, otherwise stock settings

Classic customized GE

• The Keep — thekeep.net has Galactic Empire 3.2e with several modifications. Gold is more plentiful from destroying NPCs, but worth half as much. There are several high capacity freighters available. Maximum population on planets is lowered and maximum planetary defenses are raised. Several additional classes of hostile NPCs are included.
• Onix — onixbbs.servebbs.com:2525has Galactic Empire 3.2d with a wide variety of Star Trek-themed ships (both user ships and NPCs) and a massive 64000x64000 galaxy, and Galactic Empire Trainer 3.0p.3.
